Madrones Announces Goose Island Tap Takeover!

Goose-Island-Tap-Takeover

Madrones is pleased to announce a Tap Takeover with Goose Island Beer Co. to be held Wednesday, October 15th at 6:00 PM! Goose Island of Chicago Illinois will be bringing four unique brews to Madrones for you to experience: The Rambler IPA, 312 Urban Wheat Ale, Pere Jacques, and Bourbon County Stout. Goose Island was founded with the intent to bring European-style local beer to the Chicago area, so come enjoy the taste of the windy city! Plus, as a bonus, we will be running our Randalls at this event, infusing more flavors into the brews for added diversity and intricacy.

  • The Rambler IPA has an herbal, woody, and citrus aroma. Two types of hops (Amarillo and Mt. Hood) balance each other with spicy and sweet notes. Goose Island describes the Rambler’s mouthfeel as being medium-bodied with medium carbonation.
  • 312 Urban Wheat Ale is directly inspired by Chicago and is described as being “densely populated with flavor.” The spicy aroma of the cascade hops is complimented by the crisp and fruity flavors in this ale. We will also be running 312 through the Randall with oranges and peppercorns for those who want some added flavors.
  • The Pere Jacques is Goose Island’s take on classic Belgian Abbey Ale. For those that don’t know, monks in European abbeys brew some of the best beer in the world, and this is one example of Goose Island’s effort to bring European craft to the U.S.A. The Pere Jacques is described as fruity and malty ale and as an alternative to a glass of vintage port.
  • Finally, the Bourbon County Stout is Goose Island’s most popular creation. Originally brewed in honor of the 1000th batch of Goose Island’s first brewpub, this stout includes six different and distinct malts and has flavors of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and smoke. In addition to this multitude of flavors, we will be running the Bourbon County Stout through the Randall with coffee beans and bourbon-soaked oak chips. The Bourbon County Stout isn’t a beer; it’s an experience.

Madrones hopes you will join us for this awesome event, and that you enjoy the tastes of Chicago with Goose Island Beer Co.!
